Namaskar, Nagpur travel partners. If your clients keep asking for a Kashi yatra, an Ayodhya darshan or a Bodh Gaya trip, you already know the hard part is not selling it. It is the long journey, the multi-city logistics, and finding a ground partner who picks up when a group lands at an odd hour. This guide covers how Nagpur groups reach Varanasi, two sample plans, and what we handle on the ground.
Quick answer. From Nagpur, Varanasi is about 725 to 735 km by road and about 18 to 20 hours by direct train. Groups usually book a 5-day Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya yatra, or a 7-day Buddhist circuit covering Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Kushinagar and Shravasti. KT DMC Travels, a Varanasi-based DMC, arranges hotels, private AC vehicles and local guides for travel agents' groups.
Two kinds of yatra, one ground partner
Nagpur sends pilgrims in two big streams. The first is the Hindu yatra: Kashi Vishwanath and the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi, the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj and Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. The second is the Buddhist pilgrimage: Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Kushinagar and Lumbini. Nagpur is home to Deekshabhoomi and a large Buddhist community, so agents here may see both kinds of enquiry in the same season.
One more local detail. A Navbharat Live reportnoted that pilgrims from Nagpur and Vidarbha still had no direct train to Ayodhya. That is why most groups reach Ayodhya through Varanasi or Prayagraj, and why one combined route is easier to plan than three separate trips.

Plan 1: 5-day Kashi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya yatra
Day 1: Arrive in Varanasi. Station pickup after the overnight train, hotel check-in, and the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
Day 2: Varanasi. Sunrise boat ride, Kashi Vishwanath darshan and an excursion to Sarnath.
Day 3: Varanasi to Ayodhya. Drive of about four to five hours, then the evening Saryu Aarti.
Day 4: Ayodhya to Prayagraj. Morning darshan at Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan, then drive to Prayagraj (about four to five hours).
Day 5: Prayagraj. Triveni Sangam. Direct trains also run from Prayagraj towards Nagpur, so you may be able to end the yatra here and skip the drive back to Varanasi.

Plan 2: Buddhist circuit in 5, 7 or 9 days
